This project is a proud recipient of the George T. Marshall Production Grant from RIIFF.

CIVIL SERVICE is a surrealist exploration of corporate bureaucracy and the kinds of men who choose to rise within government agencies only to dismantle what the public entrusts them to protect.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

CIVIL SERVICE is a new short film from LA based Nihil Declarandum Productions. The 15-minute short film mixes miniatures with live-action.

The story follows a corrupt government official through a typical workday as he is confronted by his psyche in the form of his dead mother. A single man in charge of “family services,” the Civil Servant denies requests for assistance from his “needy customers.”

This is the first collaboration between Russell Sadeghpour, as Producer and VFX Supervisor, (Blade Runner 2049, White Noise) and Tiffany Kimmel, Writer/Director, (Everybody Goes to the Hospital; Vimeo Staff Pick, Fantasia, Fantastic Fest, Beyond Fest, and Phil Tippett Animation Award recipient) with support from the Dodge College Film School alumni program at Chapman University and Flickers: Rhode Island International Film Festival.

Featuring: Eric Toms, Marlyn Mason, Natasha Mercado, Kim Divad, Ember Knight, Alice Rona, Julian Small-Calvillo, Charles Pieper, Mollie McElvain, McKenzie Stubbert, and Russell Sadeghpour.
